What do I need to bring/prepare for my child’s swimming lesson? Please ensure that your child has a pair of swimming goggles and is properly attired in swim attire – rashguard / wetsuit / swimming costume or shorts. Water-resistant and child-friendly sunblock is also a good idea.
-
What do I need to bring or prepare for baby class? For Baby Class, please ensure that your child is wearing swim wear and a swim diaper – do get in touch with us if you need directions on where to purchase one! A long-sleeved rashguard is also recommended to keep your child from the sun. Please ensure that you are in proper swim attire (swim costume / shorts / rashguard / wetsuit). It is also required to bring along a loose-fitting t-shirt to be worn over – this is for your baby to learn how to grasp hold of you in the water. Don’t forget sunblock for both of you!
-
Do I need to join my child in the water? For Learn To Swim program, you are not required to join your child in the water. Baby Classes are hands-on so one parent is required to be in the water with the child at all times. (Trust us, the bonding is well worth the effort of getting wet!)
-
What if my child cries during the swimming lesson?First things first, don’t worry. It’s normal for your child to feel afraid and uncertain in a new environment and crying is just their way of releasing the anxiety that they feel. Our coaches are experienced and well-equipped to engage and familiarise your child with the surroundings. (It will get better, we promise! Find out more from two mums in this blog post here.)
-
What if my coach is on leave?A Red Dot Penguin coach will be present to replace your regular coach if he or she is on leave. You will receive an email reminder before class each week with the name of the replacement coach. All our coaches follow the same curriculum and approach to maintain the quality of the lesson. Red Dot Penguins train all our coaches in-house and stand by the expertise and professionalism of our coaches.

-
What is the validity period of my swimming package?Upon sign-up, you will be assigned to a regular class at a timing of your choice. Your Learn-To-Swim package is valid for either 4 or 10 regular classes from the date of your first regular lesson. Please note that this period excludes Public Holidays and occasions when the pool is closed.
-
What if my child falls sick on the day of the lesson and has to miss a lesson? If your child misses a regular class , it will be deducted from your package and you are automatically credited with a Make-Up Class Voucher (MUV). You do not need an MC. MUVs are granted unlimited extensions. The MUV remains valid as long as your class package is currently active. It cannot be used if your package has expired or is on hold. What happens during rainy weather? As part of our commitment, our staff and coaches will always be poolside, regardless of the weather conditions. Classes will continue if the weather permits. In the event of inclement weather, classes will be stopped to ensure the safety of the students and coaches during adverse weather conditions. We will resume when it is safe to do so. A class is considered conducted if at least 20 minutes of the session has been completed.
-
How will I know if class is cancelled due to inclement weather?By default, classes will continue as long as weather conditions permit. Due to the unpredictability of Singapore's weather, the decision to cancel will only be made during, or up to 20 minutes before the class. Parents may decide if they wish to attend or skip the class for that week. A Make-Up Class Voucher (MUV) will be issued for any regular class that is stopped or missed. You may book a makeup class outside of your child's regular class. Please refer to our Make-Up Class Policy for more information.
